One screw, remove and reattach 2 wires – done. Less expensive then buying a new UPS. I only use the UPS for my cable modem an router so it is fine for short power outages.

Replacement for APC UPS as stated. Arrived quickly and old battery was recycled as required. This is my third battery and they generally last as indicated.

Overall happy with the battery — replaced in UPS connected to our computer. Only issue is the tabs were smaller (narrower) than the original so I had to make some adjustments to the connector so it would fit well and hold.

It seems to me that the purpose of a UPS is to be able to depend upon continuous power for my computer and especially, my cable modem and router. On two occasions in the few months since installing this replacement battery, power on the back-up side of the UPS has simply stopped, with no warning beeps or anything, cutting out our wifi and our VOIP phone. I suspect this may somehow be a function of having it on 24/7 so I am now trying having it turned off overnight on weekends. The first try of this did not seem to help, but perhaps it was not off long enough. Don’t know why the UPS would need to be turned off for the battery to charge, but perhaps it does.

Although product page states that its for an APC BE500U I discovered upon removing original battery that this one is not an exact match. The original had a rating of 8AH and this one is 7.2AH. Also the terminals on the original were wider so the wiring fit a little loose. Since everything fits so tight in the battery supply this shouldn’t be a problem. Don’t know the longevity but this battery fixed my unit and no longer beeping.

This battery does what it says and is a capable replacement for the original battery in your ACP BE500U. Normally for a low priced UPS when the battery goes out you should consider just buying a whole new UPS but this battery is so reasonably priced it’s a great way to extend the life of your UPS. I cannot comment on the longevity yet since I’ve only had it a month but so far so good.

My old APC UPS unit began beeping non-stop. It’s probably about 10 years old, and when I went to the APC website they (of course) recommended upgrading to a more modern unit. However, I really didn’t want to spend that much money and buy a new UPS when all that was needed was a new battery. Moreover, I’m not putting anything super sensitive or super valuable on the UPS — right now it’s being used for cable modem/router, cable box, 8-year-old BlueRay/DVD player, a 10-year-old TV, a floor lamp. Granted, if the UPS fails all of that equipment could (in theory) be damaged. Given that everything is so old and the remote likelihood of the UPS failing (and the fact that insurance might cover damage), I opted to just get a replacement battery rather than buy a whole new UPS. It was super easy to replace — is simply slides into place.I tested the unit out by unplugging the UPS from the wall (simulating power failure) and found that the battery held a charge and kept my devices running. Admittedly I couldn’t deal with the beeping noise, so after 5 minutes I plugged it back into the wall. However, 5 minutes is more than enough time to save a project on the computer and power down safely.While I’ve only been using it for a month, the $18 I spent was worth not having to hear that annoying beep all the time and saved me from having to spend $70 on a new UPS. If anything happens with the battery moving forward, I’ll update the review. I suspect, however, that it will work in the background as expected
