Replaced a 5-6YO factory battery with this. Direct replacement. Will see how long something can run once battery is fully charged. The unit I’m using it in doesn’t have a detailed status light but I had it plugged in for 5 minutes and I plugged and it seemed the unit stayed on. I use this with a security camera system so the cameras will run a bit if power goes out.

I just purchased this battery for my ES-550, so will try to update on longevity later. I measured my old APC battery and the case measured 6 X 3-3/4 X 21/2 in. I was wondering if the 4 in. measurement displayed is including the battery poles? Anyway I bought it because it’s far cheaper than original and if it doesn’t fit I’ll keep it anyway as a spare for other 12V gear I have. Also buying because one of the reviews said it fit they’re ES-550.

The battery works great. I have an older model APC ES500 and needed to replace the battery. After installing, it says that it should keep everything running for 17 minutes. Much cheaper alternative than the APC branded batteries. I also updated the APC Powerchute software since I was using the version that originally came with the UPS.

I expect these types of batteries to last around 5 years, especially if they’ve been drained to near dead a few times (storms and wind can wreak havoc with power where I live). My ES-550 was was starting to fail the previous battery on the self tests. Received this quickly, installed it, let it charge a day and put the UPS back into use. Passes the tests and keeps the devices running. Since I’ve only recently obtained this, I can’t speak to how long it will last for me yet.

This replacement for the OEM battery worked fine for me.Note: After installing this new batter I still got a red flashing light on my APC-UPS ES 550 and a notice in PowerChute saying the battery needed to be replaced. However, removing the battery, disconnecting all connected devices, unplugging the APC, and then holding down the power button for around 10 seconds to discharge the unit, before reinstalling the battery, solved that problem.

This battery fit nicely into my old APC ES-550. The terminals are the F1 type, a little narrower than the F2 which were on the original battery – but this wasn’t a problem. No complaints!

I have 2 APC UPS units (ES500 and ES750) and this battery fits both perfectly. Like the original battery, it is also inconveniently snug for attaching the terminals and slipping into the cases.
