This Inverter works well with loads under 150 watts. It is very sensitive to startup loads like motors. A 90 watt fan motor starting while running a 40 watt LED light will cause flickering. I have other inverters that does not have this problem. If you are running one item, this doesn’t seem to happen. I also noticed the wire terminals are not tight (2nd one i bought) and difficult to keep tight (1st purchase). For light loads, I’d buy this again, good value. I wouldn’t trust it with more than device plugged in while expecting a stable output. Update: 10-05-2020 This inverter is not using the new standard, it is using the old method that alternates making hot and neutral hot 60 times a second and creates a potential shock hazard. While it may be sine wave, It should be considered an Automotive inverter, not in any way for solar applications due to the new regulations.

I upgraded from a 300 watt inverter. Much better. Alarm beeps for various problem conditions. One minute set-up. Compact size. Great price.

I like the fact of a pure sine wave that has a very low idle power draw on my solar grid. That said I have a 36v charger and a 3 amp sander that the inverter keeps tripping out on. The charger pulls 230 watts and the sander 260 watts, a 500 watts inverter should Easily handle that load but it does not which is to bad I would have gave 5 stars if it did! I will run my 18 volt and 40 volt chargers and jigsaw (all under 200 watts) so it works for that. Also will work in the event of a power outage as TV, lights, notebook computer and small fan will all together run under 150 watts which NEED a Pure Sine Wave to not damage electronics. Over all given the $83 price for a pure sine wave this unit is worth it, just keep in mind that whatever you need it for has to be UNDER 200 watts.

Just received. I tested at about 350 Watts on a grinder. Had no problem with starting load or running load. Output was 115.9 at 59.8 Hertz. Decent sign wave. I only ran it for a minute or so, but no heat detected. Looks like it will do the job. 4 Stars only because I have no longevity view on it..

This review is for the 500 watt unit. I purchased this unit for my green house and it works great right out of the box. I did use larger 8 awg wire, it came with 10 awg. Runs my RV water system with all the timers and lights (led lights used). Very happy with this unit. Will update if anything changes. :0).

I did not give this a 5 because the threaded rod that the plastic nuts tighten down on the eyelets, on the wire coming from the battery were not properly installed. Too much threaded portion extending from the plastic connection base. I took the unit apart and turned the threaded rod in until the nut could bottom out on the connection base. The seller has offered a to replace the unit. Since I would in electronics I was comfortable with making the minor adjustments. I also advised the seller. Hopefully they will inform the manufacturer of the issue. This unit appears to draw about .2 amps static.
