This battery is a little heavier than expected but my Mariner 4 had no problems with the battery installed. I think I’ll get an Optima Blue Top Deep Cycle Marine Battery as my main battery and use this one as a backup.

I’ll start by putting my usage of this battery into context: I was looking for a battery to power a trolling motor as the sole propulsion source on a 12’ aluminum boat for use on two small lakes. I’ve had no less than three batteries in the past spanning from an inexpensive car battery to a higher-priced marine battery and the problem with all three was exactly the same: After about two trolling passes around the 46 acre lake, the motor would start showing obvious signs of slowing down due to battery depletion. That being stated, I was fairly dubious when I bought this battery two years ago, but it has proven me 100% wrong. I have yet to see any measurable power depletion and I’ve used it for hours on end. This battery has been worth every penny and I even bought one for my son this Christmas. The only knock I can give this battery are the flimsy handles it has. They will break, however I bought a case for it and have no issues.

It’s a heavy battery, and holds a very long charge. After 4 hours of using it on a trolling motor, it still had 80% charge

They shipped right away, looks just like described. I have not hook them up yet.

Fantastic batt, only reason 4 stars is weight and slow recharge rate. Knowing it’s a lead battery it ain’t a problem really. Definitely one of the best out there.

For a 100 Ah battery, I was surprised that it didn’t run my snook light for 48 hours.

All I know is that I took it out for many hours, like 6 hours, and ran the trolling motor at full speed most of the time. At the end of the day it was still fully charged. It’s nice to know I have a super powerful and dependable battery. Especially when you are way out on a lake. Spend a little more for safety and security. Totally worth it.

Very heavy battery that’s great for a large trolling motor.
