I purchased the Mighty Max Battery (MLB-12) because I have a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) unit which as far as I can tell only needed a new battery to be functional again, so there you go. After receiving it yesterday and fiddling around with it a bit (it didn’t seem to want to fit back into the UPS as it should, despite having the same dimensions as the battery it just replaced) it eventually slid into place. Then I plugged in my various devices (a desktop computer, some external drives and monitor, etc) into the UPS and connected it via USB to my computer (so I can see it’s state of charge). And so far things seem to be working just fine. What I like most about the Mighty Max battery (MLB-12) is that not only does it come with a 1-year warranty, you can extend it another three months by registering your purchase with Mighty Max. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

Purchased battery in October and 3 different times I have gotten a low battery alarm. Since I am unable to return the battery I am stuck for the purchase. This was my original impression, but I sent an email describing my problem and the customer service dept worked very hard to resolve the issue even though they did not have to. Borrowed a backup battery from a friend who has the same backup system that I have. His worked for 2 weeks with no problem on my system and mine worked on his system. Swapped them back and mine failed once again. Tried reinstalling the backup battery and it has worked ever since. Called customer service and they said if there is any problem within a reasonable amount of time to call and they would be happy to replace the battery.

This fit perfectly into the FIOS control box and was recognized immediately. I followed the instructions on the FIOS website and unplugged the box before I swapped batteries and did not have to anything for it to come up. The FIOS battery lasted about 3 years and is a user-replaceable item. I suppose if you want to pay a lot, you can get a Verizon tech to come to yout house and replace the battery, but I suspect it would cost a lot more than the under $20 this battery costs. It took about 5 minutes to change the battery, double-checking myself the whole way through. Next time will probably take 2-3 minutes. The power terminals are a little shorter than the original, but are in the same positions and the power connectors fit on them properly. If you are capable of undoing a piece of Velcro, holding a 3-4 pound battery, slipping connectors terminals off, then slipping the terminals on the new battery following the red/black color codes, you can do this yourself.

The box in my garage started beeping. This battery made it stop beeping! I have a FIOS box in my garage. I have no idea what the box does, but all of a sudden it started beeping. All the time. So very annoying. The replace battery light was lit, so I did that. This battery replaced a black and yellow Goldtop HG GT12080-HG Long Life, Rechargeabe Battery. It worked. The beeping stopped. Perfect replacement for FIOS battery. If you go to the Verizon website and watch the video for installing the battery, it does an excellent job of showing how to do this. Just unplug the old battery, making sure to keep the old wiring harness as well. Take the cap off the new battery and plug in the wiring harness and then install the battery into the FIOS box. Everything is either color coded or keyed for proper matching.

It shall be known!UPDATE: The red replace battery light is lit on the Fios BBU. This battery didn’t even last four months.UPDATE: Upon closer inspection, one of the cable attachments on the battery had come loose. I actually needed to cut off the casing around the metal attachment, and then use vise-grips to keep metal touching metal. But once I did that, the battery was absolutely fine. No longer is the replace battery light on. So I’m now changing my review again and giving it four stars. For me it wasn’t that hard to fix, so I only took away one star. I’m writing this on 9/4/16, right about four months after installing it. I’ll update again, if necessary.

Reasonable price for the FIOS backup battery. This is my second battery. It worked fine. I had a problem having the FIOS system to restore after changing the battery. The FIOS tech told be that after removing power and the battery plug, wait 6 minutes before pluging in the new battery and restoring power cord.
