I bought this battery to replace the one in my battery backup for my computer – the dimensions stated were exactly the same as the battery I was replacing, so I ordered with confidence. To my surprise, the dimensions of the battery I received were larger than stated in the product ad. When installed in the original direction (terminals up) I could not fully close the case of the back-up – it was simply too high by almost a cm. I was able to change the orientation, laying the battery down and could fully close the case, but the battery is a bit loose, because this is the smallest dimension. Received dimensions were 9.6 cm x 7.7 cm and 11.5 cm. Otherwise, it seems to work OK, and I am satisfied with my work-around. Good price.

I installed this battery in my Chamberlain garage door opener in Dec 2018 and now in Jan 2021 it’s beeping with the red light illuminated, meaning I need to replace it. We use our garage door as the primary means of coming in and going out, but I don’t believe the battery is ever used since we never lose electricity. I think this means it’s rechargeable for about 2 years and then dies. I have no idea what the lifespan should be, but prior to this battery we had the original Chamberlain-provided battery and it lasted 4 years. Just providing this info as data points.

Bought in 5/2015 as a replacement for my craftsman garage door opener, and failed today (July 2019). My garage door opener was once again beeping and the battery read about 6V. 4 years might not seem that long, but keep in mind that heat is hard on lead-acid batteries and I’m in central texas so my garage is hot. 95 degrees at 8pm, and still 85 degrees first thing in the morning. Probably hotter up where the garage door opener is at. Car batteries don’t tend to last more than 3-4 years out here, so I figure I got my money’s worth. Am I happy with this battery? Let’s just say that I’ve put in an order for another one. (5/2020) The second one is working great, as expected.

The old battery was made in August 2010 and the opener was installed in October 2015, so the old battery after laying dormant for a little over 5 years lasted another 3 then the Garage door opener would beep every 30 seconds. For the price with shipping being as low as it was & half the price of the Chamberlain branded battery there is plenty of value in this battery. If I get 3 or more years out of it then it will truly be a good value. Why pay 2-2.5x the price?

This battery is an exact copy of the Chamberlain labeled factory battery I removed. However, in the product description it is listed as weighing 3.09 lbs. witch Is correct because I weighed it. Then, in the product information it is listed as weighing 3.50 lbs. Very interesting, because the battery I removed weighed 3.50 lbs. The battery I removed lasted 5 1/2 years from the date of installation. That I believe is phenomenal. Maybe the weight difference occurs because of the difference in technology? I’m no engineer so I would not have the vaguest explanation. Looking forward to see what the longevity will be. Oh ! Price and value are very GOOD.

We’ve had our Chamberlain 3/4 hp belt drive door opener for about 7 years, and the original 12v battery finally succumbed during a recent hot spell. It took a while to figure out where the beep was coming from every 30 seconds. I finally pulled one of the leads off the old battery and the beeping stopped, with no apparent impact on opener function. I couldn’t believe how much cheaper the Mighty Max battery was than the OEM version! I sprung for the expedited shipping and it came in two days from Brooklyn to SoCal via USPS Priority Mail. Very easy change out after I grabbed the old battery by one terminal with my pliers and wiggled it until it slid out. The new MM battery slid right in with ease. As far as I can tell, it is exactly the same size as the original battery. Now the little green light is on and no beeping. A great deal, even if it only lasts a couple of years.

12/14 Original post -Checked the voltage of the battery before installing it, reading was 13 volts, well above the nominal voltage of 12 volts, a good sign the battery is fresh and in good health. If your battery shows up below 12 volts that’s not a good sign. 9/16 Editing my review – Battery failed after 20 months. The Texas heat is hard on Lead/Acid batteries, but I was hoping for at least 3 years. I don’t recommend this one because of the short life. Will go with a different brand.

However, it didn’t fit all the way into the existing battery slot, and I couldn’t replace the plate and screw to fully install the battery into the housing. But it works, as the ratings are the same, it’s just that the battery doesn’t actually replace the old original battery in size. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star. Make sure your measure and read the dimensions on the listing (if available).

One day my Craftsman garage door opener was beeping and I knew after 6 years of use the backup battery finally failed. I wanted to purchase a new battery and I found this Chamberlain 41A6357-1 for a very decent price. The battery was a perfect fit with matching terminals for my existing Craftsman garage door opener. Side by side they appear identical and change out was easy. Slide one battery out, disconnect, slide the new one in and reconnect. Since I installed the replacement about a months ago it has been working well and I’m pleased with the replacement. Save yourself trouble, don’t bother with the access door, just take off whole side of opener which is held in place by just 3 screws. Lot easier to get old battery out and make sure that wires stay attached to new battery when installing (1st time I put in one of the wires slipped off).

Exact form-factor replacement the 485LM battery. Drops right into the 485LM slot in the opener. Took about 30 hours to fully charge. I’ll try to remember to come back in a year and update info for longevity. Tip: if you can’t get the old battery out, it may be because the end cap of the opener is not lined up properly. In that case, just remove the end-cap. In my unit (Liftmaster model 3850) that took just 3 screws, then lift the end cap up off of 2 securing tabs on the bottom. Unplug unit when you’re working on it!!

Battery was an exact replacement for the original. Shipped during time frame promised. Time will tell if the durability is as good as original but so far has met all expectation. At the price of this battery I could purchase two for less $$$ than buying the original from Chamberlain. Great value.

I ordered this battery but received the wrong item. I notified the seller and was immediately contacted by a very nice lady named Rose. She apologized, said the correct battery was on its way. The error was corrected within a week and she said they were not going to trouble me about sending the other batteries back. Oh by the way, the battery fit perfectly in my garage door opener and works great. Thanks.

I bought this to replace the original that died in the opener. So far it works great. Maybe once every 2 months I unplug the door and use the battery to test it.

The ML5-12 Max Life Battery fit perfectly in our Chamberlain garage door opener. I have not tried running the door without power, but the constant beeping went away. I would recommend the product to a friend.

This product was exactly what was needed to fix the annoying beeping sound coming from our garage which ended up being the back up battery to the Chamberlain Whisper Drive garage door opener. The manual said call for service, luckily there was a video on youtube of someone actually showing how to install it. It was easy to do and this was the exact replacement. I can’t say as to how long it will last because we did just purchase it, but so far I can say I am very pleased and it saved us an unnecessary call for service.

First time I had to replace the battery in the Chamberlain garage door opener. Replaced the original battery with no problem. The low battery beeping sound went away. I unplugged the power to the motor and operated the garage door a few times with no problem. I’ve had it for 2 months so I can’t comment on the longevity of the battery, but for $13, its not bad.

Half the price with no shipping charge. I’ll see if it last 3 to 5 years as claimed. The original battery didn’t last even a year. The replacement lasted a few years. This battery, hopefully, will last what it says but this is the first time I bought this brand? It arrived in the mail in a timely manner, about a week. Delivered by the U.S. mail. Very convenient.
