One positive data point for people who are worried about the longevity of this battery. I bought this from Mighty Max via on December 2016, for my home security system’s backup battery. It’s been working without any problem since – never had to look at it. Today I checked and it had a bit of corrosion (the while stuff) on the black/negative terminal, but it easily came off with my fingernail and an old toothbrush. The terminal is now shiny clean and has no sign of leak.

Needed to use a needle nose pliers to grip the snap on electrical terminals for replacement. Repair took five minutes. Can’t rate battery life since it is a new install, but seems to do the trick.

This was a replacement battery and an exact match for the replaced one. I am not happy having to replace a rechargeable battery after only three years. The replaced battery leaked and corroded off the negative post. Hopefully the new one will do better. It was half again more expensive than three years ago. I bought this to backup my Verizon FIOS unit. You can get a battery from Verizon for 39.99, which is supposed to last 6 to 8 years, or you can get this battery for 17.99. I bought it last year in November. It is now August 2018, and I am already getting the annoying beeping, indicating that the battery needs to be replaced. Need anything more be said?I guess something more must be said — in all fairness. When taking out this battery to install a new one, I noticed that one of the terminals had somehow come disconnected. When I reconnected it, the warning lights and beeps went away, and everything was as it was supposed to be. No idea why the terminal came loose after 9 months. So I will change my rating to a 3, for now, and will see how long this battery does the job.

This is the same size and shape as the battery that Verizon supplies for the FIOS battery backup unit, and it works just fine. But be aware that the battery terminals are not as big as the original and therefore you may need to squash the crimp connectors a bit to make them grab securely. For that reason alone, I would try a different brand next time I need to replace this battery.

Like many other reviewers, my battery stopped working and started beeping 10 months after I installed it. I looked up the seller’s website (mightymaxbattery.com) and wrote to them via the contact us option. I provided my order number and asked that they honor the one year warranty. I heard back the next day and they advised the following: If I may ask, have you tried resetting the APC unit? You would need to remove the battery for about 2-3 minutes and place back in. It may be that the unit is holding on to old battery memory. Afterwards, leave uninterrupted for about 24 hrs. This may do the trick. I followed these instructions and the beeping stopped and the red light went out. Ten days later it’s still working. They also provided the phone number of their warranty department in case I wanted to go that route.

Put this battery in there and it Worked like a charm. No more annoying beeping! Much better than paying $40 to have Verizon/Frontier ship out one of their batteries. I would recommend this product for anyone dealing with that annoying Fios issue. Just a tip, be sure to keep the wire clips/fasteners from the old battery. This one doesn’t come with them it’s just the wires.

As I discovered years ago, all that matters is matching up the voltage, and to try to beat the amp hours of the old battery, and verify the physical dimensions so as to fit into your application. Some batteries have 7AH rating which probably work, but, I wanted a battery with exact specs. Just connect to existing terminals and slide in. wasn’t sure if it was going to fit or not because the box looked smaller than the battery size (based on previous experience having to buy a battery this size before). It fit perfectly and I have had no problems with my internet or the incessant beeping from the wall unit telling me the battery needed to be replaced. Now, as far as this battery will last, that remains to be seen. But, the clock is ticking. The price was definitely good. Shipping was good as well. Now, I did get this more than a week later than I was supposed to, but that was not the seller’s fault. It was the post office’s fault for writing the wrong apartment number on the box. If the seller would ship another way besides USPS, that would be better for all.

This is my third Mighty Max Battery for my Verizon FIOS, but I am increasingly disappointed in the amount of time they last. The first battery lasted 22 months, but the next battery lasted just 14 months. I am hopeful that this current one will last closer to 2 years than 1 year. We shall see. On the plus side, the service was very good and the price was good, but–see above.

I purchased the Mighty Max 12V 7.3AH battery as a replacement for the backup battery in my 5 year old Verizon FIOS equipment installed in my garage. The phone line is also included thru the fiber optic cable, and the battery backup assures continued use of the phone in the case of a power outage. The old battery had died, and the equipment in the garage was giving me a periodic and annoying warning beep.The battery arrived well packaged. The replacement process was extremely simple. Just pop open the cover on the equipment, remove the old battery, which has a red and black power connector that needs to be pulled off. Remove the protective covers on the the power tabs of the new battery, push in the black and red connectors that were just removed from the old battery, and push the battery in place in the equipment. Done! No more annoying beeps, and the battery status light went from red to green.I have now had this battery in place for a month, and no problems whatsoever!This was a perfect replacement, and much less expensive that getting the same thing from Verizon.The installation is so simple, I cannot imagine paying someone else to do it.

I have a Verizon FIOS hub installed in my basement since 2012. I was installed with a battery back up that preserves the function of the hub so that the home phone service will continue to work in the event of power failure. I installed an UPS to keep the WIFI router also powered during black outs. The configuration worked very well during power failures and I can keep surfing the net and using my home phone for at least 40-60 minutes. I have not tried to use the phone or internet past 60 minutes so I can’t speak to the longevity/battery life. My Verizon FIOS hub started beeping in year two and the battery was obviously in need of replacement. I couldn’t take the constant beeping and I purchased this Mighty Max battery as an economical alternative to the Verizon battery (which costs $78). It is 1/4 of the price for an OEM battery and the terminals fit the original wiring harness without any adapters. Mine shipped directly from the vendor and the form factor was identical to the original battery. I have had one power failure in the one year that I have owned this battery and it seems to work just fine.UPDATE:It lasted just one year; long enough for the warranty to expire. It is value priced but keep in mind that it is necessary to order a new one every year.

Watch it folks, I have bought this type of battery in a big box sport store only to find it had lost it charge. Brought it back but first checked the charge on all the batteries on the shelf in order to get a good one. 85% of the batteries on that shelf were some what charged to little to none. I brought it to the attention of one of the clerks working there so no one else would get ripped off buying one of there batteries. Returned to that store days later only to find not one of those batteries had been removed from the shelf. So, buyer beware.

12/16/15 My old ebike lithium battery played out. The replacement lithium battery from China was about $250 with very difficult communication to determine if the expensive lithium battery would even fit. Instead I opted to buy 3 of the Mighty Max SLA batteries, wired them in series to make a 36v battery pack and mounted them in the same space on the ebike. I even cannibalized the socket and switch and electronics from the old battery pack. The total weight was still under 15 lbs so there were no issues with weight, and furthermore these new SLA batteries so far have really held a charge and provided even power for my typical uses to the store and around town. I even used the original charger which trickle charges at 42 volts and leaves a fully charged battery array with 38.5 volts. Naturally, it is understood that the SLA will have fewer cycles over the product life than a lithium battery, but these inexpensvie batteries can be replaced every year and still be money ahead. The batteries appear to be very solid and well made with little chance of a leak or breakage which is an important factor on a mobile application. They are also easy to recycle wherever car batteries are recycled. As far as security, it would be much more difficult to steal these as their mounting is semi-permanent. See photo. 1/16/16 The batteries have been in use now for one month and still performing well. There are a couple of things I learned though. First, in the cold January weather the capacity of the battery is reduced. In really freezing weather you can expect this type of battery to hold only about half the total amps they do in summer. If I stored and charged my bike inside then this would not be an issue, but it lives in the carport with no heat. So, the best approach is for me to charge it during the warmest time of day at least. I can still get the range for the usual trip to the store or the park of about 5 miles total, but in warmer weather it was closer to 10 miles. Of course, the batteries are now a month older too, and as time goes on they will hold less. Will check back periodically to advise on how they are doing, but for now they are still strong, esp. when charged on the warmer afternoons. BTW, these batteries have a fixed mount to the frame with little cusion (a small piece of foam rubber) but the way AGM batteries are made with gel impregnated mats there is no liquid acid just floating around waiting to ooze out of the cracks. So far no leaks. 5/1/16 Follow up. I am AMAZED at the fact that these batteries still working as good as new on the eBike after 5 mostly very cool months with regular use. Also, there is no sign of leakage and they do take some shock considering they are mounted on bike frame that is unsprung in rear. I am so glad I opted to use these on the eBike instead of ordering the expensive lithium alternative from China direct online. For a fraction of the price three of these batteries still continue to carry me and a heavy load of groceries sometimes almost daily. I highly recommend this product.

No issues with this battery. Works, holds charge, but hasn’t really been tested on an extended power outage. Remember, the battery for Verizon FIOS is only for backup of the land line. You’ll have to internet search to swap wires to use the battery to actually backup your FIOS internet connection. Easy to do, but don’t replace your existing battery thinking that your FIOS internet went out even though you have a battery, when Verizon by default does not set up the battery to backup the internet connection.

Addendum: I installed the Mighty Max battery after my FiOS battery backup once again sounded its alarm. It was an easy drop-in replacement that took about 5 minutes from start to finish. So far so good. The battery was the same size and specifications as the original Verizon battery and it fit perfectly into the backup battery space in my Verizon box. The battery does have T1 terminals and not T2 terminals which is what the Verizon connector expects. But that was easily fixed by purchasing F1 to F2 Terminal Adapters at the same time I purchased the battery. The terminal adapters did add about 1/2 to the length of the wire attachment assembly but when I installed the battery the wires were able to flex enough that it was no problem connecting the battery to the Verizon equipment using the connector from my original Verizon battery. Be sure to save the wire connector (harness) from your original battery, you do not get another one when you purchase a replacement battery. Quick response, received the battery very quickly.Now we just wait to see how long it lasts.

Works great…One warning, though. Check the connectors (spade lug) after you reinsert the battery. On my FIOS unit, if you aren’t careful, the positive terminal disconnects when you replace the battery. Of course, that means it won’t be detected and the alarm light/beep will remain on. Make sure the connector is all the way on and hold it on when you reinsert the battery and you’ll be fine.

Works as promised for my FIOS system. No complaints. Need to wait a few years to see if its lifespan will match or exceed the original. Otherwise an awesomely less expensive alternative to Verizon’s seemingly way overpriced version. I say go for it.Update after about a year and a half. The battery lasted only about 16 months as opposed to Verizon’s which lasted much longer. However, after all is said and done, if I do the math at the price point, it will still be better to buy three of these and that will for sure outlast Verizon’s. On top of that the warranty is the same on both, so why would I spend the $75 they (VZN) wants.I’m buying my second one now….

An easy install and all set for now. It was as described and arrived very quickly. You would think Verizon would feel they earn enough on the monthly fees and should not mark up the battery at all.

The Might Max 12V 7.2AH SLA Battery for Verizon FiOS works great. It was easily to replace the old battery. The Mighty Max is the same size and shape as the old one I was replacing. I started by unplugging the overall unit from the wall socket–like the Verizon video says. Backup batteries fit very tightly in my wall unit, so I had to fiddle with getting the old one out and getting the new one in. But look, it only took 5 minutes. Just plug the positive and negative wires into the new battery outlets and away you go. After I plugged the main power back into the wall circuit, the internet worked right away. It took about 2 minutes for the phone to reengage. I don’t have a TV so there was nothing to check there.
