This is a direct replacement for the original sealed battery in my tire inflator. It seems well made, so far it works fine, and it was great value. The instructions stress that it should be charged every three months even if it isn’t used, or it may be impossible to get it to accept a charge. That’s exactly what happened to my last one, but to be fair, I left it discharged for several years.

This battery fits the Hausfeld Campbell air compressor that stopped working after only about 16 months. Changing the battery is about half the price of purchasing a new compressor. It takes about 25 minutes the first time. When you add the cost of your own time it may be just a little cheaper than to replace the entire compressor and buy a 2 or 3 year warranty with it. I have a garage floor full of old compressors with batteries that won’t hold a charge any more, so I am glad I bought this battery.

The price of this adequate battery makes it a sensible purchase rather than replacing the Campbell Hausfeld Cordless Inflator – which is far more expensive. Opening up the inflator and changing the battery is a piece of cake. To play it safe, whether it needed it or not, I gave the battery an overnight charge. The next day it worked as effectively as when the machine was new, which was over 15 years ago.I strongly urge you to dispose of your old battery conscientiously. Here’s a tip. Many Lowe’s stores have a depository for worn out rechargeable batteries. At my store it’s in the Customer Service area.

Installed in my Campbell Hausfeld compressor, charged, and pumped up 4 car tires from 20psi to 35psi and the spare from 30psi to 60psi, without recharging or running the battery down. I was very impressed with the power.
