I purchased this battery new in 2018, and it is running strong. I use it in my Polaris Sportsman quad in the summer and my Polaris Indy 500 snowmobile in the winter. I have never needed to charge mine and the snowmobile will crank right over in sub-zero temperatures. I am returning to purchase another as I just sold my snowmobile with the battery in it. This is by far the most dependable battery I have ever had and my Sportsman is a 2005, so I have gone through a few over the years.

Originally purchased in July 2018 for a Polaris ATV that I use many weekends. Stored battery inside over both winters. Two years later almost to the day my ATV will not start. If I keep a small 2W solar charger on it, or use the pull chord it will start easily. So – for $20 per year – is it a good deal? For me, maybe, since on-demand electric start for this ATV is not critical. If I had a harder starting ATV or if it really had to start when I turn key and press the starter then no. If it were a vehicle with no pull start (like my jetski) then heck-no!

Finally a simple improved design on the battery terminal connections. Normally getting the terminal screw to engage into the square nut is a pain, it required a delicate maneuver to force up the nut with a flat screw driver sometimes takes several minutes to do. This battery design has a plastic riser under the terminal area that allows the nut to rest in the proper place to allow the screw to positively screw easily into the nut. Awesome design improvement, I wish all ATV batteries had this design. The improved design also allows for connecting the wires on the front side of the battery vs the standard top side.

I waited to review this because I wanted to put it through the ringer first so I could submit an honest review. I live in Western New York and the winters can be harsh. I installed one of these in my plow machine and replaced the OEM battery. I was a little nervous because of1 the cold weather (I store my wheeler in an unheated shed which means I need it to start after sitting for days in 30° temps or lower)2 I am hard on my batteries because I am constantly using my winch in and out to operate the plowThis has held up and the wheeler starts every single time and has no problem with the constant use of the winch. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid replacement

The name branded replacement battery was $100. The size was almost exactly the same and it has double the amp-hours as the other battery. The only downside is that you have to have an AGM rated battery charger if you ever drain it. But that’s just a minor thing.

Just be cautious when installing, the supplied square nuts have a tendency to fall out of place. I always end up having to use a small piece of styrofoam jammed under the nuts to hold them in place until the battery lead attachment screws have started threading into the nut.

I live in mid Michigan, so hot summers and cold winters. I bought this for a Polaris Sportsman 570 which takes power to start as it is. This battery had a lot of great reviews so I went with it in July 17. It fit well and worked well for 3 months then began to fail. Over the winter i would have to charge it every time to get it to start. It would not hold a charge even for a day. I dealt with it since i have another quad i plow with so I didn’t ride my 570 much. April 18 I got a replacement through warranty at no charge. I read reviews that Mighty Max doesn’t honor their warranties but I didn’t not have a problem getting a replacement. I was hoping to get through the summer on the replacement but it is starting to fail again 3 months latter. Not starting at home is one thing, but on the trails its much more of a pain to get a jump. I would not recommend it but gave it 2 stars based on the price and warranty. I am surprised how many 5 star reviews this has. Maybe it lasts longer with smaller engines, but in my case it has become more of a hassle to charge or jump it than its worth.UPDATE: I came across this review i left, initially 2 stars but i changed it to 5. I am not sure if the battery was the issue or just the symptom of an electrical issue. During this time I had a HF winch (with remote you know the one) hooked up incorrectly (directly to a always hot positive wire instead of the ignition). while I never saw a draw on the winch, i suspect it was drawing power none the less at the remote receiver. I went with a more expensive battery and at the same time unhooked the winch. The quad has worked fine since even though it sits for weeks at a time. While I know this isn’t great battery maintenance, I suspect overtime i was creating a draw on the Mighty Max that the sator was unable to keep up with and I was causing the death of these batteries. So the batteries didn’t work for me, I’m not convinced it was the fault of the battery, I would try one again if the need arises.

Fit perfectly in 98 Polaris Indy Trail Touring. Only thing that isn’t ideal is the nut they use is not tall enough. You need to slide a flathead under the nut for the bolt to bite. The nut could just be taller to fill the gap.

These ATV/Motorcycle batteries usually don’t last me more than one season, as our winters are cold, but since this product is 1/2 of the price that I can get local, it’s a win-win situation. So far so good. One year on and after numerous discharges due to a useless parking brake on my Shadow this battery still cranks engine over and keeps a charge. Highly recommend for the price.Update: Exactly 2 years after purchase and this battery is starting to go bad. Some of the cells are starting to die and it is losing voltage at rest so much so that it will not start the engine sometimes. 2 years for $40 is a very good value. I ordered another one as a replacement as I would not want to take my chances elsewhere. Good product.

Oh, I wish I had known that carried this battery before I went through all the hassle of trying to find a replacement battery for my ATV in Omaha, Nebraska!! I tried one of the older style batteries, where you have to add the acid, then wait a while, then charge it. What do people do who don’t have a battery charger??!! And to add insult to injury, as the saying goes, you have to check the fluid level once a month on the battery, which involves taking it back out to see the levels!! This Mighty Max Battery is awesome and hassle-free! It took longer to unpack the battery than to install it! I will be buying more of this battery come spring time when my riding mower battery gets replaced. As you can tell, I am really pleased with this battery.

Exact fit for 2002 Polaris 6 wheel 500 sports man. Good shipping time. Battery is really heavy. One I took out felt 1/4 the weight. Should fit 500 sports man from 1998 to about 2006. Check measure the battery you have two turns in cold and it fires. Great battery and it’s a lead acid. Does not require a special charger but always use a 2 amp charger to keep from over chargingUpdate may 11 2017. Bought this Nov 2016. Now 6 months later dead can’t charge it. Worked great till now. Charged 6 hours at 2 amp over two days. Won’t hold a charge Warranty call made and received a new replacement about 10 days. So they stood by there batteries. Finally put a old motor cycle in charged it running and starts fine while waiting for the new one. May 21 2019. Update. Well hot 2 1/2 years and just reordered a new one. When you have a computor in a vehicle it will run the battery down so if not using keep a small one amp or less charger on itWell after 2 years and 7 months it was giving up the ghost. I drive approx 1/4 mile down back and male 5 stops. Not any time to fully charge. . So it is pretty good. I can live with that. New one on the way delayed because of post office. This battery weighs 10.5 pounds. One it replaced was 5 pounds max

Outstanding! Perfect fit for my Yamaha Moto 4, Cranked it up immediately even though the machine had not been started in at least 2 months. I don’t think it even went 2 revolutions and it was running! Love that I did not have to add acid to the battery before installation, and since it is a sealed battery there is no need to add acid later. That was the problem with my old (Walmart) battery (which cost more). The old battery was only 2 years old and was dry, as in the acid was gone. This Mighty Max is a winner by all measures, HIGHLY recommended

I ordered this battery for my 250 quad runner and when it arrived , I was surprised at how heavy it was ( which is good ) I have a front end loader type bucket on the front of my quad that is operated by two 12 volt winches and just finished empting my large compost pile. The battery kept up on operating the winches and starting the quad with no problems.

It has always been a big pain to check the acid level in the stock type so when the last one failed I went with Mighty Max YTX14AH-BS. I got this battery based on the listed dimensions even though it wasn’t specced for my 1982 CB450SC Nighthawk. The battery fit exactly into my battery holder (not a mm to spare) and the bike started faster than it ever has while I’ve had it. The battery also arrived fully charged, which was a plus.I was originally going to get the Yuasa version of this battery, but I decided I would give this one a shot at half the price. I’m glad I did, the CCA capacity seems to be great and plenty for my bike.
